SNOW STORM

Photography exhibition at Loft Art Gallery, Casablanca, 2026

During a journey through the High Atlas Mountains, I became stranded for forty-eight hours at 3,000 meters above sea level, caught in the midst of a powerful snowstorm. At the time, I was developing an artistic research project on water. I had not anticipated that it would confront me so abundantly in its solid form, overwhelming, expansive, and inescapable, especially in a dry country like Morocco.

The landscape shifted into something almost unreal: a suspended world of white, where silence felt dense and time seemed to slow down. What was meant to be a simple passage through the mountains turned into an immersive encounter with the elements.

Already documenting a body of work in progress, I instinctively began recording this unexpected event. The storm became an extension of my research; an pportunity to observe water in one of its most radical states: raw, monumental, and transformative.
